Alrighty, this sure has improved since last I saw. My ideas:

SPACE DUST: Please add something that way I can tell I am actually moving. Add lots of random single polygons floating around and not moving. When you move around then you actually have a sense of motion because the stuff around you is moving. Get what I mean?

Mouse controll: Figure out a way to tell then when I bring the mouse to the left the ship should keep turing to the left untill I go back to the center. Having to slide over pick the mouse up and slide over again to make big turns will be bad for combat later on. Also add a bit of lag. When I drag the mouse over the ships nose follows the mouse but does not move instatly with the mouth. That makes is more realistic and more fun. The way it is just seems wrong. Also allow scroll wheel on mouse to controll thrust.

Interface graphics: I have free time, let me help you out. DoI has stalled, again so I have time to devote my self to other stuff for the time being.

Ship graphics: Obviously you brought someone else on becuase some of the newer ones ain't to shabby, still the old ones need redos.

Prefrences: Let me choose my own key bidings!!

This was a blunt accessment of what needs fixing. Pardon the apples but I am tired and need to go to bed now. Good bye.

If I had a working copy of EH, I probably would have picked up on these ideas as well. Paul is trying to get GNUStep to port EH to Linux and I finally got Gentoo to work so I can start helping with the port. Once we get that all sorted out, then I can really help with devel. All I've been able to do is comment - not very fun.

-Mogul

P.S. Thanks Paul for all you've done.
P.P.S. What kind of lousy name is Killer Monster Snow Goon? I mean, seriously... And what's with the haircut? Don't trust him guys, his modelling skills are sub-par.
P.P.P.S. Goon and I are friends, we poke each other Mr. Green.

Feh...You call this sub-par Razz

Modeled in blender 3d, and yes I know that one is too high poly for game use. Its going to be rendered from many angles and placed as a texture onto a low polygon version. Unfourtonately EH can't use this one becuase its from Project Revolution.

Dude, that rules just like Cannon Fodder (inside joke)! What did you use to render? Yafray, Maya, 3DSMax?

Come to think of it... I'm not sure we've seen any of Mogul's exalted spaceship graphics Very Happy

As for what you should do, anything like that is good! I'm sure a place can be found for just about anything, really. If it doesn't look retarded. Maybe even if it does... erm, no. Never mind that last bit.

Adding space dust is a good idea. Ironically, the mouse control you describe is what I had originally, but people didn't like. I can add it back in as a toggle mode. Very Happy

I will now be out for the rest of the week. Catch ya's later.

I've almost got something really cool done - promise! Most of my posts were rushed; I haven't had very much time this past year. I know it sounds like I'm making foolhardy excuses, but it's true! Mr. Green I'll show you something as soon as possible.

-Mogul

P.S. Another excuse is that one of my webspaces was only accessible through Wind... I mean Doors and it kept crashing; for a long time I couldn't even get to my space.

P.P.S. Hey, I thought you were going to be gone for a week? I was going to get my stuff prepared then - I thought I had time. You stink Twisted Evil.

No, I knew that - I have most of the books. The ones I don't, I got from the library. Clavin and Hobbes rules like Cannon Fodder!

Somehow I didn't notice these paragraphs before Very Happy

You are right about the ship graphics, that's attributable to Mike.

As for the preferences, you can make your own key bindings. In the preferences screen, nagivate using the up/down arrow keys or the mouse, then hit return to switch to edit mode on the entry you want to change.

Killer Monster Snow Goon, I am not sure if you still read these forums, or actually did model that cool 3d model ship.... but It'd be nice if you could draw some for Event horizon...

Yes he modelled that ship, and no he's not reading to forums any more. DoI hit a snag but's back (I think - no, wait... they're down), but he's back in school now.
