umm.... everything i've made that's new has its textures inverted when it goes in the game.... and there's some goofy transparency (it's pretty cool, actually, but it might be nice to know why it's doing that....). Example: my new ssyssywlyssna weapon (the "Ryss") was originally supposed to be red. It was almost completely transparent in the game. Just for fun, I changed it to cyan, and now it's working, but it's pink Confused help, anyone?

Is it supposed to have any transparency? I'm not sure whether I've supported that or not. Razz

Well i did some rings on a planet a while ago that I set the opacity in Photoshop so something like 40%, and it worked great in the game. I don't think that the weapon had any transparency in the texture, and I'm almost sure that the Hoktur ships I made didn't either....
As for the plugins, I keep them as current on my website as I can, so here's the links to them:

Ssyssylwyssna

Hoktur

Changing the image map from a bmp to a jpg will fix the problem

Strange, BMP (and anything else Preview can open) should work just fine...

The thing about doing transparency in ships, though, is that it won't always look right. For transparency to look right, all the transparent polygons must be drawn last. So you can do it, but it will look strange sometimes.

hey, thanks. I switched the textures to png & it worked great... still don't know why bmp inverted it, though. Confused oh, and if you want to see the results, the links above should still work

Maybe it was a byte-endian issue... I know some graphics formats support Mac or IBM ordering. That would definitely switch your colors up!
